The collection consists of six folders of materials related to Adams' work in Tengchow China. The collection includes subject files about the China Inland Mission, leprosy, and Manchuria. The collection also contains correspondence to and from Adams to the Foreign Mission Board, China Inland Mission, International Christian Leprosy Mission, and the Baptist mission in Shantung, China, and Adams' family. Prominent individuals included in the correspondence include Harold C. Etter, W. H. Faust, Robert Hall Glover, J. F. Love, Charles E. Maddry, Ivan Neprash, M. T. Rankin, and R. J. Willingham. The correspondence describe the salvation experiences of Chinese persons to whom Adams preached and ministered, medicine and public health in China, and appeals for financial support from the Board.

Southern Baptist missionary to Tengchow, China, in the Shantung Province. He served along with his wife in Tengchow from 1908 until his retirement from the Foreign Mission Board in 1943. As part of his work in China, Adams directed a school for boys for one year and served as president of the North China Mission.
